The Fig Tree Restaurant
19 December 2008
The De Hoop Collection’s much anticipated foodie destination is now open, offering day and overnight visitors to this unique eco-tourism destination a place to enjoy culinary creations from one of South Africa’s best-loved chefs.
The establishment of Fig Tree Restaurant, which is situated in the main Opstal area of the De Hoop Collection, has been steered by the experienced hand of Judi Dyason, best-known for cofounding the world-renowned Prue Leith School of Cooking in South Africa. Dyason also trained the chefs and catering staff at all of The Madikwe Collection’s lodges.
With a shaded terrace overlooking the De Hoop Nature Reserve, The Fig Tree Restaurant offers a full a la carte menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. “We pride ourselves on sourcing products from local suppliers and on changing the menu according to what is in season – this ensures that all dishes benefit from the freshest ingredients,” says Dyason.
